Magioni vegetable pizza hits Waitrose
Amsterdam-based Magioni has launched two "new exclusive" vegetable pizza bases in UK retailer Waitrose.
The company is rolling out a Courgette Pizza Crust, which contains 63g of vegetables, and a Cauliflower Pizza Crust, containing 67g of veggies.
Announcing the move, Waitrose noted both items are suitable for vegetarians. The retailer suggested that the "kid friendly" options also provide parents with a way of feeding their children hidden veggies.
Aileen Wood, Waitrose Pizza Buyer commented: “With the increase in popularity of “flexitarian” diets and more customers looking for alternative ways to eat fruit and veg, the Magioni pizza crusts are a great way of getting more veg into your diet."
The pizza crusts are made from 35% or more vegetables and are priced at £3.29 for two bases.
