Salmonella outbreak linked to chicken burgers
Canada: Loblaw Companies is recalling chicken burgers due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Chicken burgers 1kg have 'no name' as the brand and best before 6 February 2019 with codes outer package: 2019 FE 06 and inner package: 0378M. They were distributed nationally at retail level.
The recall is linked to an outbreak of 59 Salmonella Enteritidis infections in eight provinces. Ten people have been hospitalized but no deaths have been reported.
Several of those ill reported eating No Name brand chicken burgers before illness occurred. A food sample of chicken burgers with date February 6, 2019, tested positive for S. Enteritidis.
