Metal in bakery products
Australia: Miss Maud is recalling a variety of bakery products due to the presence of metal.
'Flying Dutchman' (biscuits), Blueberry, Date and Bran, Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon, Party Chocolate Chip, Party Blueberry, Party Date and Bran, Savoury Bacon and Cheese and Savoury Pumpkin Muffins, Eclairs, Party Eclairs, Profiteroles, Mazarins, Apple Crumble Tarts, Patisserie Tray products are affected.
Flying Dutchman Biscuits Best Before 6/9/2018 and 15/9/2018. All other unpackaged products purchased on or before 23/5/2018 are involved.
They were sold at Miss Maud retail outlets in Western Australia.
The company said it has been able to correct the problem through its auditing processes.
"A customer notified us that a small piece of metal was found in a Flying Dutchman biscuit. After a thorough investigation, it was found that an internal part of a mixing machine in the Bakehouse was faulty. As this machine had been used for different products, as a safety precaution, we have recalled all of these products."
