Meat recall due to lack of process controls
New Zealand: Two companies have recalled meat products due to a lack of process control.
Bidfood trading as Mediterranean Market (Wanaka) is recalling all batches and dates of Mediterranean Market brand Cressy Farm Shoulder Bacon and Cressy Farm Streaky Bacon.
They are sold in plastic vacuumed packs of varying sizes with a Mediterranean Market label at Mediterranean Market Wanaka, 20 Ardmore Street, Wanaka.
Euro Gourmet Meats is recalling all batches and dates of its smoked meat products in various weights.
Bacon – Back Eye, Hock, Diced Lardons, Mager Spek, Middle, Ontbytspek Danish, Shoulder, Streaky; Bierstick (‘Beersticks on label) – Chorizo Spanish Style, Droewors South African, Garlic, Pepperoni, Plain, Lamb; Ham – Off the bone, Rauwe, Sliced and Salami – American Pure Beef, Garlic, Wild Venison, Hungarian, Metworst Trampers, Pepperoni, Salchichon Spanish Style, Snyworst Dutch, Venetian Coppata are involved.
Smoked sausages – Andoullie Cajun Style (Hot), Cheese Kranskies, Frankfurters, Knakworst, Hungarian Kolbasz Garlic, Kookworst, Portugese Chaurico (Mild and Spicy), Rookworst; Boterhamworst Pork Luncheon; Rookvlees Smoked Beef; Salmon (labelled as Hot Smoked Salmon – Ready-to-eat) and Smoked Chicken – Half and Loaf are also affected.
They are sold at Euro Gourmet Meats 303 Colombo Street, Christchurch; Riccarton Farmers Market; Mt Pleasant Farmers Market and Bidfood Wanaka, 20a Ardmore Street, Wanaka.
Affected products should not be consumed but there have been no reports of illness.
