Undeclared milk and egg in pesto
US: BLM Prod.-u. Vertriebsges. mbH & Co. KG is recalling Priano Rosso Pesto Sauce as it may contain undeclared milk and egg.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume it. To date, no illnesses have been reported.
In cooperation with Aldi the product has been removed from stores in Arkansas, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont and West Virginia.
Product was also available to Aldi customers in the Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles areas through the company's partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.
The recall comes after it was discovered in a label review that the product containing egg and milk was delivered with a label not explicitly indicating the presence of those ingredients.
