Undeclared sulphites in organic chlorella and spirulina powder
Luxembourg: Organic chlorella and spirulina powder has been recalled due to undeclared sulphites.
Poudre de chlorella bio + raw brand Marma Superfoods 200g date 30.5.2018 and lot 6286 and Poudre de Spiruline bio + raw 200g date 30.4.2019 and lot 7254 are affected.
Undeclared sulphite (19.9 mg/kg - ppm) was found in organic chlorella powder from China, via Belgium and at 16.4 mg/kg - ppm in organic spirulina powder.
Chlorella vulgaris raw powder bio Superfood Purasana brand 200g date 30/10/2019 and lot OCH-DF-160330/10 is affected.
Unauthorised and undeclared sulphite was found at 29.7 mg/kg - ppm in chlorella powder from Mongolia, via Belgium.
Products were distributed in Luxembourg by Nature Elements and Pall Center but a wider distribution is possible. They were withdrawn from stores but some of the inventory was sold.
