Triple T Specialty Meats linked to Salmonella outbreak
US: Triple T Specialty Meats has recalled chicken salad due to a link with a Salmonella outbreak in Iowa.
The firm recalled 20,630 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken salad due to possible Salmonella Typhimurium.
Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) said there are 37 confirmed and 78 probable cases.
Chicken salad items were produced on various dates between 2 January and 7 February, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
They were shipped to Fareway stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.
Chicken salad subject to recall was purchased from 4 January to 9 February in various weight containers from the deli sections in Fareway stores.
