Commission mulls origin labelling with draft legislation: Stakeholders react
The public consultation, which opened on 4 January and ran for just under one month, asked stakeholders for opinions on a draft regulation setting out rules for indicating the country of origin or place of provenance of the primary ingredient used in a food product when this differs to the origin of the food.
Initiated by the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, it attracted opinions from 143 different stakeholders.
