Processing deviation of pork products
US: Guymon Extracts Inc. is recalling 4,202 pounds of fully cooked pork due to a processing deviation.
The problem may have allowed potential spore-forming pathogen growth including Clostridium botulinum and Clostridium perfringens, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
Items were produced and packed on 3 January and sent to distribution centers before further distribution in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Washington.
2.2 lb. - 10 polybag pillows packed in paper cartons containing “Pork Soup with Rendered Pork Fat (from bone)” with lot code 010218-1, product code 61306 and best before date December 22, 2019 are involved.
The problem was discovered by an Enforcement Investigator and Analysis Officer (EIAO) while conducting a Food Safety Assessment (FSA) at the establishment.
