Listeria in meatballs
US: Rich Products Corporation is recalling 3,420 pounds of beef meatballs that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Ready-to-eat (RTE) frozen beef meatball items were produced on 17 December and shipped to distributors in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
36-lb. cases containing six 6-lb. bags of “Member’s Mark Casa Di Bertacchi Italian Style Beef Meatballs” with “Best if Used By 17 DEC 2018” label and lot code 15507351.
The problem was discovered when the firm told FSIS it had shipped adulterated product into the market.
