Food Safety Recall round-up 19-25 January 2018
Listeria in green beans and mixed veg
US: National Frozen Foods Corporation (NFFC) is recalling green beans and mixed vegetables due to potential Listeria monocytogenes.
Some codes of Bountiful Harvest Foundations and Bountiful Harvest Originals cut green beans, Monarch Capri Blend, Simplot Classic meadow blend, Sysco Classic, Valamont and The World's Harvest cut green beans are affected.
Products were distributed to foodservice in bulk and packaged containers in AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, KS, MI, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, TN, TX, VA and WA between August 18, 2017 and January 12, 2018.
Following cooking preparation instructions on labels of master cases or packs will reduce the risk of exposure to Listeria, said NFFC.
The recall came after a third party test result of the IQF Green Beans by a downstream customer that revealed the finished products may potentially be contaminated. There has been no report of illness.
