Food Safety Recall round-up 1-7 December 2017
Undeclared egg in meatballs
US: Caesar's Pasta LLC is recalling 46,810 pounds of beef meatballs as they contain egg which is not declared on the label.
Frozen beef meatballs were produced between 1 November, 2015 and 30 November, 2017 and shipped to food service in Pennsylvania, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
10-lb. boxes containing 0.5-oz. pieces of “Schiff's Italian Brand Meat Balls,” with lot code 70033SH; boxes containing 1-oz. pieces of the meat balls with lot code 70034SH and boxes containing 1.5-oz. pieces with lot code 70035SH are affected.
The problem was discovered when the establishment’s customer noticed the label did not include eggs in the ingredient statement. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
