Silica and glass contamination
US: Green Cuisine is recalling 65,621 pounds of chicken and turkey salad that may be contaminated with hard silica and glass fragments.
RTE chicken and turkey salads were produced from 4-5 November and shipped to retail in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
Trader Joe’s White Meat Chicken Salad with celery, carrots and green onions dated 10-21 November, Trader Joe's Curried White Chicken Deli Salad with toasted cashews, green onion and a bit of honey dated 10-21 November and Trader Joe's Turkey Cranberry Apple Salad Turkey Breast Meat with Sweet Dried Cranberries, Tangy Green Apples, Pecans and Sage dated 10-21 November are affected.
The problem was discovered when the company received consumer complaints and notified FSIS Inspection Program Personnel. FSIS has received no reports of injury from the products.
