Food safety recall round-up 6-12 October 2017
Beef pot roast package contains beef meatloaf
US: Sandridge RMH Acquisition is recalling 1,222 pounds of ready-to-eat beef as it is mislabeled as beef pot roast but contains beef meatloaf.
Beef meatloaf contains wheat and soybean oil, known allergens, which are not declared on the label, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
Ready-to-eat homestyle beef pot roast items were produced and packaged on 6 September and shipped to retail in Florida and Georgia.
The problem was discovered when a consumer reported they purchased a product labeled as beef pot roast but it contained beef meatloaf. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
