Undeclared milk in pork sausage and beef products
US and Canada: America New York RI Wang Food Group is recalling 63,823 pounds of pork sausage and beef due to an undeclared allergen.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) said the product contains milk which is not declared on the label.
Recall scope was expanded to include an additional 9,850 pounds of Heat Treated but Not Fully Cooked-Not Shelf Stable products produced from January 2016 to 29 June, 2017 and distributed for institutional use in New York.
FSIS was told of the problem by the firm after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) tested exported product and discovered milk proteins.
Further investigation by FSIS inspection personnel identified additional items that did not include milk on the label. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
The CFIA said Canda Six Fortune Enterprise Co. is recalling Ri Wang Food brand meat and fish because they contain milk, egg and soy which are not declared on the label.
