Food safety recall round-up 11-17 August 2017
Possible glass in pastry
Scotland: Peter’s Food Service has recalled baked meat and vegetarian pasty products because they may contain glass fragments. It includes Asda, Lidl and Peter’s brand items.
The supplier said it recalled a small batch of products as a precautionary measure due to a potential glass contamination incident at its Bedwas factory.
Mike Grimwood, managing director, said: “As consumer safety is our priority, we immediately informed the Food Standards Agency and are working with them and our customers to remove this small batch from point of sale where applicable as a precaution.
“We have taken every step possible to address this matter and we can confirm that no other products produced by Peter’s are affected.”
Asda 2 Peppered Steak Slices, 2 Steak Slices 2x150g with dates 19 and 20 August are involved.
Lidl UK is recalling Chef Select 2 Slices, Chicken & Mushroom and Minced Steak & Onion, 300g, use by date 20 August.
