Listeria in truffle
Hong Kong: The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) has urged the public not to consume a kind of cheese with truffle imported from the Netherlands as it might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Some of the product was imported into Hong Kong by The Dutch Limited. A total of about 84kg was distributed to two retail outlets and three city'super supermarkets for sale in loose packs with sticker "the dutch cheese and more".
The importer and supermarkets have removed and stopped sale of the affected product. The importer is also recalling it.
L. monocytogenes (presence /25g) was found in canned truffle from Italy and cheese with truffle from the Netherlands, according to the RASFF portal.
The notice said it was also distributed to Aruba, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Sweden, Tunisia and Ukraine.
Hungarian authorities said the 4.5kg product has brand name 'Fianco Truffelkaas' and item number 5017.
