Salmonella in ice cream
US: La Granja is recalling 4,000 units of hand crafted Paleteria, mango flavoured ice cream, because it could be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis.
It was distributed in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina through retail stores and by direct delivery.
The popsicle comes in a clear bag with La Granja logo and the dates of expiration are 210218 (February 21, 2018) and 280218 (February 28, 2018). UPC code 0010439212.
The recall comes after a result of a routine sampling program by The Georgia Department of Agriculture. No illnesses have been reporte.
The company has ceased production and distribution of the product as it and the FDA investigate the cause of the problem.
