Sudan IV in palm oil
Luxembourg: Zomi palm oil of the A.F.P (African food products) brand has been found to be contaminated with Sudan IV.
It is a forbidden dye that is potentially genotoxic and possibly carcinogenic.
The 750ml bottle has a date of December 2017, lot number 05 MAY 2015 and came from Ghana.
The problem was found following market inspection by food safety authorities.
Sudan 4 was found at a level of 1000µg/kg-ppb and the product was also sent to Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
