Ciguatera poisoning from fish
Germany: The Bayern Ministry of Consumer Protection has advised against eating some "Red Snapper" fish fillet from Vietnam after cases of ciguatera poisoning by algae toxins.
Lot VN/385/III/122 and VN/385/III/124 are suspected of being contaminated with algentoxins, which can lead to poisoning, said Das Bayerische Verbraucherschutzministerium.
The agency said 11 cases of illness have been reported linked to frozen Red Snapper fish fillet from Vietnam.
