Chicken salad affected by cheese recall
US: Three Ready Pac Foods Inc establishments are recalling almost 60,000 pounds of one variety of chicken salad that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The Puro Picante Blazin’ Hot salad items were produced between January 17 and February 17, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
Affected product is 7.5-oz. single serve salad bowl packages of “Ready Pac Foods Puro Picante Blazin Hot” with Use By of 1/31/17 through 3/4/2017 shipped to retail nationwide.
The problem was discovered when the firm was told by a supplier that the cheese ingredient in the chicken salad was included in an expanded recall due to potential contamination with L. monocytogenes. There have been no confirmed reports of illness.
