Norovirus in oysters
New Zealand: A number of companies have recalled oysters due to a link with a norovirus outbreak.
At least 11 people have become ill from eating oysters harvested from Mahurangi Harbour.
Hunter Fish Otahuhu Pacific Oysters Whole Shell (Individually) and Half Shell (½ dozen/tray) sold on or after 14 January and Hutchings & Addison Pacific Oysters Whole Shell and Half Shell (1 dozen/tray) sold on or after 14 January are affected.
Orata Marine is recalling its Pacific Oysters (pottle 200g or 300g and half shell bulk, 600g/bag, 1 dozen/tray and ½ dozen/tray) sold on or after 14 January.
Matakana Oysters is recalling Pacific Oysters (whole shell, half shell, pottle and tube) sold on or after 14 January and Seafood Harbour is recalling its Pacific Oysters (pottle and half shell oysters) sold on or after 17 January.
