Food safety recall round-up 27 January - 2 February 2017
Undeclared MSG on pork sausage
USA: Atlas Meat Company is recalling more than 2,500 pounds of pork sausage as they may contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), which is not declared on the product label.
The ground pork sausage items were produced on various dates from October 12 to January 23, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).
They were sold to consumers at the firm’s Fort Collins location and shipped to retail in Colorado and Wyoming.
The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel during routine verification activities but there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.
