Food safety recall round-up 2-8 December 2016
Potentially undercooked chicken
US: National Steak and Poultry is recalling almost 2m pounds of ready-to-eat chicken because of possible undercooking, resulting in the potential survival of bacterial pathogens.
The expanded recall includes a variety of ready-to-eat chicken products produced on various dates from August 20 to November 30.
They were shipped to food service locations nationwide and sold directly to retail consumers at the establishments’ monthly dock sale.
In late November a food service customer complained that product appeared to be undercooked but there have been no confirmed reports of adverse health effects or illnesses.
