E. coli in oysters
New Zealand: Kia Ora Seafoods is recalling its Te Kouma Bay brand Half Shell Coromandel Pacific Oysters because they contain elevated levels of E. coli.
RTE seafood with Best Before (Chilled): 04/09/2016, 05/09/2016 and 06/09/2016 and Best Before (Frozen): 28/03/2018, 29/03/2018 and 30/03/2018 are affected. There have been no reports of illness.
The 12 half shell oysters are sold in one plastic tray covered by plastic wrap or individually unwrapped and has been exported to Hawaii and French Polynesia.
It is sold in supermarkets within Pak'n Save and New World stores in the North Island and as individual half shell oysters in Moana Pacific Fisheries (Wellington) from 29/9/16 – 1/10/16 and Manukau City Seafoods (Auckland):29/9/16 – 2/10/16.
