Clostridium botulinum suspicion in coconut drinks
Belgium: King Coconut and 100% Coconut Grove have been recalled due to potential Clostridium botulinum.
The 1L coconut drinks have consumption before 21-8-17 and were sold in Action stores.
Sparkel Beverages said there was insufficient heating in the production process.
Clostridium botulinum can form spores that are resistant to heat. Spores may subsequently develop into bacteria.
The product came from Poland and was distributed to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Netherlands, according to the RASFF portal.
