Undeclared milk in instant cocoa
Czech Republic: Státní zemědělská a potravinářská inspekce (SZPI) has warned of instant cocoa with undeclared milk protein allergen.
Penny Cho Quick batch L30756F with date 9-2017 from Poland was labelled to show it may contain traces of milk. The maximum allowable limit for this is a concentration of 25 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg). Laboratory analysis showed nearly one hundred times higher concentration: 2,478 mg/kg.
Johny Cacao Instant Drink Vitamins and Calcium batch L22955C with date 4-2017 also stated it may contain traces of milk but laboratory analysis showed the concentration of milk protein in the mixture was 454 mg/kg.
The agency ordered Penny Market and Lidl Česká republika to withdraw the instant cocoa drinks.
