Salmonella concerns in Tahini
Sweden: Midsona has recalled Urtekram brand organic Tahini due to a risk of Salmonella.
Urtekram Ekologisk Tahini med salt and Urtekram Ekologisk Tahini utan salt 350g are affected.
The firm withdrew the products, which included roasted sesame seeds, due to the possible risk of Salmonella in raw sesame seeds.
The current batch with sesame seeds included are roasted at over 100 degrees for more than 10 minutes before the seeds are ground to Tahini. Salmonella bacteria die when heated to 80 degrees.
Midsona urged consumers who bought products to either discard or return to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
