Food Safety recall round-up May 27 - June 1 2016
Listeria outbreak with sausage link
Austria, Germany and Switzerland: Warnings have been issued in Austria, Germany and Switzerland due to a Listeria outbreak linked to sausage products from Sieber Gesellschaft für Wurst- und Schinkenspezialitäten.
Listeria has been found in some products from the company but it has recalled all of them (see list here).
Illness have been reported in Germany (in German) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has suggested a link between the strain and an ongoing outbreak (English) since 2012 but this is unconfirmed.
There have been no cases of Listeria reported in Austria linked to the outbreak, said AGES.
FQN has attempted to contact German authorities to clarify information pertaining to this outbreak but has, as yet, been unable to do so.
