Scollan
Professor Nigel Scollan has been appointed director of Queen’s University Belfast’s Institute for Global Food Security.
He is a world-leading expert in animal agriculture and associated supply chains and will take up the post in September 2016.
Most recently he was Waitrose professor of sustainable agriculture and director of enterprise at Institute of Biological Environmental and Rural Sciences.
Scollan said: “I am delighted to be joining Queen’s Institute for Global Food Security and I look forward to working with staff, students and stakeholders to help address the significant challenges and opportunities in agriculture, food and health.”
He was president of the British Society of Animal Science 2011–12 and been involved in many government, industry and academic forums addressing issues in agriculture and food.
