Special mention: Salmonella in chocolate
In August, a recall of chocolate bar products possibly contaminated with Salmonella expanded to more than 20 countries.
The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) confirmed the items were produced in the country but would not tell us who they were made by.
The pathogen was found in the chocolate wafers and countries affected included Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Ukraine.
