"Although they are interesting, these trends in non-store channels are a part of pursuing an omni-channel strategy rather than substitutes for retail overall. Consumers are demanding convenient options for their shopping and these retailers are responding.
"For example, the mailbox delivery option offered in Finland through Alepa Kauppakassi will not mean that shoppers will no longer have access to stores to shop for groceries, but rather it is another access point to the retailer," she says.
