Aspen Foods recalls almost 2m pounds of chicken
July - USA: Aspen Foods, a division of Koch Poultry Company, is recalling almost 2 million pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken product that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis.
Frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken items were produced between April 15 and July 10 with “best if used by” dates between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) and partners identified three illnesses connected with the product. See a list of affected items here.
Barber Foods, also linked to the outbreak, expanded a recall to include more than 1.7m pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products last week.
