Chr Hansen has turned in ‘an encouraging performance’ for Q3 2015 with revenues rising 9% for the first nine months in 2014/2015.

The Danish company, which supplies natural ingredients for the food, beverage, dietary supplements and agricultural industry, has reported a solid organic revenue growth of 9% to reach €625 m in the first nine months of 2014/2015.

But the overall 7% organic growth rate for 2015’s Q3 was below that of 2014's Q3 which stood at 11% - in part due to one key customer’s decision to in-source production of silage inocculants as well as the fact that the natural colours division performed especially well in 2014 , said CFO Klaus Pedersen.

Its best performing division was health and nutrition which saw 17% growth, while the cultures and enzymes division grew by 8% and natural colours by 7%.

Pedersen said that these all these figures fell within the company’s predictions.

“We are definitely pleased to see the cultures and enzymes division deliver within our long-term guidelines for 7 to 8% growth, especially within the cheese business,” he said, adding that the company expected the natural colours division to see increased growth as players in the marketplace were increasingly turning towards natural colours.

EBIT figures were slightly up from last year - rising from €55 m to €63.8 m - which the company put down to improved operational and production efficiency in its new Copenhagen facility.

In  2013/2014 Chr Hansen boasted revenue of €756 m.
