Dansensor
Dansensor was showcasing its new visual inspection system, the VisioPointer, which works by using two cameras to take top and bottom images of packaging on a line. It carries out an inspection of the sealing and labelling of the product – for example, if the position, date and bar code on the product are correct, with the errors then highlighted on a display screen. It can also detect and locate products that have been trapped in the sealing area, causing leakage and/or shelf-life failure. There are two different versions of the bar-code checker – one for checking whether there is text there and the other checks if the bar code is right. The machine, which made its debut at Anuga FoodTec, is capable of handling up to 250 products per minute, and is very easy to clean and maintain, claimed the firm. It can be used for any kind of packaging product, but works best on packaging that has clearly defined seals. A spokesperson for the firm said it was looking to develop a number of standard models of the printer.
