Elevated mycotoxin in cereal
11 February - Belgium: Aldi has withdrawn Golden Bridge Cornflakes 500g because the level of deoxynivalenol is too high.
Deoxynivalenol, a mycotoxin, was detected in the cereal with lot L14-05240 17:48 and best before date of 21/12/2015.
It is recommended that people who bought the product, to not eat it and return the box to the point of sale for a refund.
Possible symptoms in case of high consumption are gastrointestinal problems like vomiting, said l’AFSCA (Agence fédérale pour la Sécurité de la Chaîne alimentaire).
