Elevated VOCs found in drinking water
11 November - Ireland: Fior Uisce water has been recalled due to elevated levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Elevated levels of tetrachloroethene and trichloroethene were detected in the product.
Naturally Irish Still Water and Naturally Irish Sparkling Water; sizes: 250 ml (glass bottle), 750 ml (glass bottle) and 19 litre (plastic bottle) are affected.
A statement from the firm said that laboratory analysis has shown VOCs in excess of drinking water level.
"We have switched to our back up water supply and are conducting an investigation to verify the situation and if present determine the source," it added.
All date codes and batches of the water which comes from Ireland have been recalled.
