Food Safety recall round-up 17-23 October
Listeria in ham
20 October - Hong Kong: Two kinds of cooked and chilled ham and mortadella manufactured in Italy were contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes and exported to Hong Kong.
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said a French retailer has initiated a recall and about 11 kilograms of the affected product were imported to the country.
Fumagalli Organic Cooked Ham (70g) and Fumagalli Organic Mortadella were affected.
CFS contacted the importer concerned in Hong Kong, City Super, and learnt that the affected products had been taken off the shelves and the use by date has now passed.
