Food Safety recall round-up 27 June - 3 July
Spoilage worries prompts Bionade recall
2 July - Germany: Bionade has recalled "elder" and "orchard" varieties in PET bottles due to possible entry of yeast cells that can lead to fermentation and change product taste and appearance.
These processes are very slowly found first in the bottle and could not be determined prior to the delivery of goods to retailers and consumers, despite quality control and utmost care, said the firm.
0.5 liter PET - Bionade elder best before date: 06/04/2015 and 0.5 liter PET - Bionade orchard with best before dates and MHD 03/06/2015 06/04/2015.
Affected PET bottles can be easily identified due to the increased carbon dioxide content, the bottles foam when opened, are in some cases heavily deformed (inflated) and the product can be cloudy.
