Fish and farms feel cost of Qatar diesel price hike
Fishermen and remote farmers in Qatar are feeling the pressure of a 50% rise in the price of diesel in the country.

The cost of fish is rising as a result of the fuel price hike, with diesel making up a significant portion of fishermen's operating costs. And some fishermen claim they are now losing money because of a combination of higher fuel costs and the fixed-price market system used in Qatar's fish market, according to The Peninusla.

And farmers outside Doha have seen the cost of water deliveries rise because of the increased cost of diesel. Farms not connected to the municipal water supply rely on tanker deliveries for their water, which are now more expensive thanks to the pricier diesel.
