Weber is a specialist in stainless steel robots for the food industry. Karin Janse, head of marketing communications, told GlobalMeatNews the fully-automated Variety Pack System was a focus at the show. Suitable for packs of mixed cold meats, it is a modular system that combines products from three lines, via a belt system, to be packed together. Janse said that smaller packs of different products were becoming more popular with smaller families. The Slicer 908 was also launched at the show - the company’s biggest slicer yet. Built in a new more hygienic design, the slicer has a very open construction to ensure safety and ease of cleaning, said the firm. The new model has a 620mm-wide product throat and can slice up to six 100mm-calibre products at the same time.
