A seminar on topical issues in risk assessment is to be held by the Finnish food safety authority this month.

EVIRA said it will present children's cumulative exposure to heavy metals in food, and the presence of bioactive compounds in vegetable food supplements.

A risk assessment of Campylobacter in the food supply chain and the environment will provide information for the development of risk management and monitoring programmes.

Food risk assessment results include a harm-benefit analysis of the consumption of Baltic herring, said the agency.

The ‘Topical Issues in Risk Assessment’ seminar will be held on 16 May, register by emailing johanna.makela@evira.fi no later than 8 May.
