Clostridium botulinum found in bacon spread
4 February - Canada: Kitchen by Brad Smoliak is recalling bacon spread because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum.
The 125g or 125ml product was sold in Alberta and has a UPC of 6 27843 01328 0 and a best before code of 14 MA 14 and 14 JL 14.
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results triggered the recall.
The agency is conducting a food safety investigation into other production codes, which may lead to further recalls.
There have been no reported illnesses so far.
