Marshfield Food Safety to test Resolution system
PathoGenetix has signed an agreement with a microbiology and chemistry contract testing lab to evaluate their RESOLUTION Microbial Genotyping System.

Marshfield Food Safety will test the instrument, assays and database in their laboratory, and provide feedback on the speed, utility and ease-of-use of the system for food industry applications.

The system provides confirmation for presumptive positive screening tests and identifies molecular serotype and strain type information of foodborne pathogens in five hours.

Based on Genome Sequence Scanning (GSS) technology, the system isolates and analyzes microbial DNA from enriched food samples, without a cultured isolate, to type target bacteria even when multiple serovars are present.

Marshfield Food Safety participated in a customer experience program in November and PathoGenetix also signed an agreement with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to evaluate the system in public health foodborne illness outbreak investigation and response.
