NSF acquires Bioensaios Analysis and Environmental Consultancy
NSF International has acquired a Brazilian lab to expand its business in Latin America.

Bioensaios Analysis and Environmental Consultancy has an analytical laboratory with food, agribusiness, water and environmental testing services.

The employees of NSF Bioensaios, as the firm will be known, includes 70 scientific and environmental experts that will remain in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

NSF Bioensaios food/feed industry services include testing food and feed products in the supply chain for pesticide and veterinary drug residues, PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), heavy metals and other contaminants.

NSF International clients have access to NSF Bioensaios' services, including environmental evaluations for freshwater, seawater, effluent, soil and sediment; valuation reports on drinking water, food and feed safety; and OECD-GLP studies for chemical products and materials.

The acquisition complements NSF's operations in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica and the deal for INASSA Group, a Peruvian tester for the water, seafood and pharmaceutical industries.
