Plum Baby Foods recall due to microbial spoilage
11 November - Ireland: Plum Baby Foods has recalled New Plum Stage 1 Baby Food Pouches Due to Microbial Spoilage.
The firm said it has identified a manufacturing defect on some packs of six new varieties of baby food causing the contents to spoil. Where the seal has failed, the pouch will either have leaked or bloated. If consumed there will be a sour taste or ‘off’ flavour.
Batches have best before dates up until and including 2 October 2014 and originated in the US.
The firm said it has received no reports of associated illness and no other Plum Baby Food products are affected.
Plum Stage 1 Baby Food Pouches affected are: Blueberry, Parsnip & Buckwheat 100g; Plum, Strawberry & Barley 100g; Courgette, Banana & Amaranth 100g; Mango & Carrot Greek Style Yogurt 85g; Raspberry & Spinach Greek Style Yogurt 85g; Kale & Apple Greek Style Yogurt 85g.
