Listeria found in smoked meat
13 November - Canada: Les Salaisons Desco Inc. is recalling Schwartz's At Home brand Smoked Meat due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled the agency will notify the public through food recall warnings.
CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace but no reported illnesses have been associated with the product.
