Salmonella prompts EU actions
9 October - EU: Salmonella has been found in fruit and vegetables and poultry products, according to the RASFF portal.
Salmonella was discovered in a number of samples of paan leaves (betel/pan) coming from India and Bangladesh. The notification from the UK said the products were destroyed at the border.
The pathogen was also found in /25g in fresh chilled chicken breast fillet originating from Italy. The strain Salmonella infantis was identified and the product was withdrawn from the market in Denmark.
