Food Safety Recall round-up 27 September - 3 October
E.coli tainted burgers recalled
Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Belmont Meats are warning the public not to consume certain Compliments brand Super 8 Beef Burgers because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.
This recall is the result of an ongoing food safety investigation initiated as a result of a recent outbreak investigation.
CFIA said illness have been associated with the product but did not say how many or give further details.
The product has been distributed in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador in Sobeys banner stores, which might include Sobeys, Foodland, FreshCo, and Price Chopper.
Frozen Super 8 Beef Burgers 6 x 227g / 1.36kg are affected with a UPC of 055742370553.
