Iodine levels in dried seaweed behind recall
20 September - Germany: An increased content of iodine in dried seaweed has prompted a recall in Germany.
The product (Chung Jung Won Sea Tangle), from South Korea, was imported by Hanyang Yuton, Anton-Schlüter-Str. 5, 60437 Frankfurt.
The consumption of excessive amounts of iodine can lead to thyroid function and is harmful to health.
It is recommended not to consume the product and existing packages can be returned for a refund of the purchase price to the company.
